I actually bought this for my dad - who is really hard to buy for and somewhat picky. When he got the box it was originally empty. So I was pretty upset about that. Imagine sending your dad an empty wooden box! However, I did call them and they did fix the problem and sent him the actual "utensils". He seems to really like it, but it would have been nice if HWB got it right the first time around.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
