I have been on a quest for an attractive menu board. Most of the ones available are of the resin "Fat Chef" variety. This one is attractive and understated--more stylish than a plain chalk board. And it just so happens to fit perfectly on my pantry door. Be sure to give the entire board a good coating of chalk before the first use, then wipe it off with a paper towel. This helps subsequent chalk to adhere to the board when writing.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
