When I did receive it however there was a noticable three inch scratch on it.

EXCEPT... the 1st letter in the personalized name (S) was folded at the bottom curve. This was a 40th B-Day gift for a close friend. Luckily it WAS a close friend because I didn't have time to send it back and wait [...]. Instead, I had to explain when he opened it in front of a room full of people, why it was that I gave it to him even though it was imperfect. Needless to say, it was quite embarassing! I told him once he opened it that I would send it back, but because it was going to be displayed on a high shelf, he said not to worry about it.
