InSight Telescope Walking Stick Review Comments:

Yes, this is a walking stick. A cane is meant for ambulatory assistance. A longer stick is called a "hiking stick." A gentleman's walking stick is meant for style, some assistance in keeping one's balance, and possibly even self-defense if the need arises. This stick works well for all of the above, and then some. It is a heavy stick, so possibly not suited for very long walks, but just right for a stroll around town. The overall feel is very solid. It is heavily balanced toward the handle. The telescope and brass attachments are well-fitted and have no discernable rattle as you walk, but a very slight wobble at the top of the handle (not enough to put me off). The optics are what you might expect from a 3X telescope only about 4 inches in length. Good enough, certainly, for amature bird watching, sporting events, and even the opera if you're so inclined. The stick is quite long, which is good. Taller men will be pleased, and since it is made of wood, it will be easy to shorten if necessary. A handsome, functional walking stick I expect to carry everywhere.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The 'walking stick' is very nice. The telescope is nice, and folds into a very cool handle on the top. The only problem I had was this product being called a walking stick, and LOOKING like a walking stick on the website. At most this could be called a short cane, not a walking stick. Walking sticks are at least 5 feet high, and are much thicker. For what it is I really liked the product, and my father whom I gave it too also was very pleased. It's just not a walking stick. It's a cane
