Very well insulated, the glass looks very thin but it is durable. Clear glass so you can see your drink in the shaker it is COOL looking. The only complaint I have is it does not hold very much, really good for 1 martini. I use it often I am thinking of buying one more.

I purchased one of these shakers and I really thought it was great. That was until the inside glass separated from the top rim. At first I was unaware that the glass had chipped and separated when I poured a drink into my glass. That was until I noticed small thin pieces of shattered glass in my drink! This can be a very dangerous situation. I'm not sure what made it separate from the metal top but someone needs to look into it.

BOTTOM LINE: No, I would not recommend this.

This cocktail shaker is wonderful! It keeps your hands warm, and your drinks icy. The twist off cap/strainer really does speed things up, especially when mixing drinks for a large crowd.

The metal top should also be insulated. You have to leave it off if you have part of a drink left or condensation leaks down the sides. As you are shaking the cocktail the top gets cold because it's not insulated. I would like a high grade acrylic version I could use on my boat. Love the sound as I shake my drink! A fun addition to cocktail hour!
