I love how this cork screw looks. I bought it for its "old world" style. When the "wings" are pulled up to remove the cork, the metal feels awkward & slightly weak as though it will break the cork or the metal might break. That has not happened & I doubt that it will but it does not have a strong, durable feel to it. I bought it for the appearance, i am very happy with how it looks & that makes me happy.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
