The glass bottom tankard dates back to the 1800s. It's said that it came about when one captain decided to cut a hole in the bottom of his beer tankard and fitted it with glass so he could always keep an eye on roaming scalawags and his greedy crew even when he was playing poker and drinking ale.

We're hoping that you keep better company than those old sea captains, but just in case, you can always keep your eye on the game and know just how much beer or ale you have left when using this fine pewter tankard! Handcrafted from the finest quality Sheffield English pewter, which is the fourth most valuable metal commonly used in the world, and then carefully inlaid with a glass bottom and sealed, this brushed pewter tankard is very unique and comes with a great history that your guests will love to hear about, everytime you use it. 4.5" tall, holds 18oz.
