I have this ashtray in green marble instead of black marble. I was very impressed with the quality of this piece. The finish is very nice and it is heavy. I put felt on the bottom of mine and it works perfectly. My only complaint is that the bowl isn't large enough if you smoke larger cigars such as churchills. You will have to get up mid-smoke to empty the bowl. If you don't, the ashes could touch the lit end of your stick. I might try to enlarge my bowl eventually, but overall I would say this is a very good value for the price.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
