I bought one of these for my BF for Christmas and was so happy with it that I just purchased one as a birthday present for a friend with "discerning" tastes (i.e. Snob). Good quality and the leather doesn't look or feel cheap. The engraving on both is centered well, with nicely formed letters and an elegant script. I do wish there was a more masculine script choice but still an appropriate and nice gift.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
